94 WYSP is offering UNPAID internships to college students at our station for COLLEGE CREDIT. The various internships available are as follows:
GENERAL INTERNSHIP
SALES INTENSIVE
EAGLES BROADCAST ASSISTANT (August-January Only)
SHOW INTERNSHIP

GENERAL INTERNSHIP
Students will receive first hand experience on the workings of a radio station. This internship rotates in our Programming, Promotions, Sales and Sports Departments. The various tasks in each department are as follows:
Programming:
• Choose and write public service announcements under direction of Public Service Director. Assist in preparation of quarterly issues and programming reports.
• Work with Music Director and Program Director on special programming projects.
• Prepare packages for on air personalities for remote broadcasts
• Assist with various day to day activities and special projects as they occur (e.g. station promotions; remote broadcasts; responding to listener calls and letters; Philadelphia Eagles broadcasts and network affiliate relations; purchasing errands)
• Assist Production Director with various tasks to maintain upkeep of studio and promotional announcements.
Promotions:
• Assist Promotions Director and Assistant Promotions Director with day to day operations in the promotions department (scheduling of events and on air contests, on air liners, etc.)
• Assist in coordinating promotional signage and literature for on site and point of purchase promotions and events.
• Assist in marketing, promotions and programming events. (Bar parties, sponsored sales events, concerts, live broadcasts, etc.)
• Assist in distribution of press releases.
• Calculate on air mentions and prepare affidavits for client promotions.
• Assist in office management (faxing, photocopying, etc.)
Sales:
• Assist Account Executives assembling media kits and sales proposals for client presentations.
• Assemble leads for sales staff based on demographics.
• Work with Sales Assistant on various tasks including: distributing billing sheets, faxing spot times to clients, filing, data entry and more
SALES INTENSIVE
Students will exclusively work in the sales department and receive an inside look at how we conduct our business of selling advertising time for 94 WYSP . Knowledge of power point and excel are essential.
Various tasks include:
• Assist Account Executives in assembling media kits and sales proposals for client presentations.
• Assemble leads for sales staff based on demographics
• Attend and participate in off site “brainstorming meetings?
• Maintain inventory system for tickets and/or gift certificates
• Work with Sales assistants on various tasks, including, distributing billing sheets, faxing spot times to clients, filing, data entry and more.
EAGLES BROADCAST ASSISTANT
These internships are only offered during football season (August-January) and the applicant will only work on game days. Knowledge of the game and some production skills required. One intern will be hired strictly for in studio work and another will be hired for stadium site work.
In studio duties include:
• Screening phone calls during pre and post game talk shows.
• Taping play by play along with extrapolating and archiving highlights
• Provide stadium crew with NFL updates of other games in progress
• Listen to broadcast to record promotional mentions
Stadium site duties include:
• Tracking down scheduled guests for Pre and Post game show
• Cue hosts and audience when going to and coming back from commercial breaks
• Assist with promotions department in set up and break down of remote site
• Assist on site producer with various tasks as they arise.
SHOW INTERNSHIP
Students will work exclusively with a specific show during the duration of their internship. responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, Internet research, incoming listener phone call screening, and fulfilling daily tasks as they arise.
